Tadiran industrial grade batteries cultivate more productive agriculture
Battery-powered remote wireless devices are at the center of modern agriculture, enabling data-driven solutions to enhance productivity, maximize crop yields, monitor food quality and safety, manage livestock, capture and distribute rainwater, and more.
Tadiran lithium batteries power smart agricultural technology, from low-power remote wireless sensors that monitor environmental conditions (i.e. temperature, rainfall, humidity, soil moisture and pH), to devices that enable bi-directional communications, to the creation of wireless mesh networks that manage animal herds, to the high rate power needed to actuate control valves. These and other applications are increasing using AI-enhanced communications to optimize performance and SCADA while also reducing long-term maintenance costs.
As the chart below indicates, Tadiran lithium batteries are utilized throughout agritech.
For example, our ultra-long-life XOL and iXtra Series bobbin-type Lithium thionyl chloride (LiSOCl2) cells feature an exceptionally low annual self-discharge rate to power devices up to 40 years without a battery replacement. Our PulsesPlus batteries combine this ultra-long-life capability with a patented hybrid layer capacitor (HLC) to generate the high pulses required to power wireless communications.
For devices that draw enough average current to prematurely exhaust a primary battery we offer TLI Series 20-year industrial grade Lithium-ion (Li-ion) rechargeable batteries. In addition, we offer TLM Series high-energy batteries that deliver high rate power to actuate valves and other electro-mechanical devices.
Let us help you identify the ideal battery for your application.
FEATURED APPLICATION
Cattlewatch AI-enabled electronics collars monitor cattle herds by providing remote behavioral information and alerts using an ultra-low-power LoRaWAN® network. Selective members of the herd are equipped with solar powered communicators that form a wireless mech network with the entire herd. Tadiran TLI Series rechargeable li-ion batteries create a lightweight solution that can withstand extreme temperatures, offers up to 20-year operating life and 5,000 full recharge cycle, and the ability to generate high pulses to power wireless communications.
Related Applications
Tadiran bobbin-type LiSOCl2 batteries power data loggers that continuously monitor the transport of pharmaceuticals, vaccines (including COVID-19), tissue samples, and transplant organs at cold chain temperatures down to -80°C.
Ayyeka is utilizing AI-enabled smart sensors to revitalize hard infrastructure, including solid waste and wastewater management, public utilities, transportation, energy exploration and distribution, smart cities, environmental monitoring, and more. Powered by Tadiran bobbin-type LiSOCl2 batteries, these remote wireless devices permit two-way communications to maximize operational efficiency, detect unusual events, enable predictive maintenance and repairs, and help counter growing cyber security threats.
