Tadiran bobbin-type LiSOCl2 batteries are the preferred choice for low-power remote wireless applications because they offer the highest energy density (1,420 Wh/l) high capacity, and are able to withstand extreme temperatures (-55°C to +125°C). Tadiran XOL and iXtra Series bobbin-type LiSOCl2 batteries provide up to 40-year operating life due as a result of extremely low self-discharge (less than 1% per year) by harnessing the passivation effect. These ruggedly constructed cells also have unique safety features that protect against extreme temperature, pressure, puncture, shock, and vibration.
Our PulsesPlus batteries combine a standard bobbin-type LiSOCl2 cell with a patented hybrid layer capacitor (HLC), enabling low-power wireless devices to operate mainly in a “standby” mode drawing nominal current, then periodically deliver the high pulses requires for two-way wireless communications and other advanced functionality. PulsesPlus batteries also feature a unique end-of-life voltage plateau that can be interpreted to deliver ‘low battery’ status alerts.
For energy harvesting applications that require a rechargeable Li-ion battery, Tadiran offers TLI Series industrial grade cells that far outperform consumer grade Li-ion batteries, able to operate for up to 20 years and 5,000 full recharge cycles. TLI Series batteries offer an extended temperature range (-40°C to +85°C) as well as the ability to deliver high pulses to power two-way communications.
